Recently, I had the pleasure of working with a client who wanted to add a splash of color to their garden. They were considering removing a trio of trees to create more space for perennials and shrubs. However, removing these trees, especially oak trees, would have meant losing their significant ecological benefits. Instead of removing the trees, I suggested a different approach: limbing up the trees to allow more light to penetrate the area. This method maintains the trees' ecological value while opening up the space beneath them for new plantings.
I recommended planting colorful flowers and shrubs in the newly created open space, enhancing the garden's aesthetic appeal.
